County FC Academy Player Signs Contract at Crystal Palace FC

From GA Wright Athletic Fields in Alliston, Ontario to St George's Park in the United Kingdom, County FC goalkeeper Owen Goodman has fulfilled a dream of playing professional football. Owen Goodman began his soccer training in Canada in the town of Alliston and was a top goalkeeper at County FC Academy. Technical Coach Director Jason Garforth of County FC has a strong philosophy to bring out the best in each player. He saw Owen’s potential to succeed and says it was the hard work and dedication to the game of soccer that led him to the inevitable dream he had hoped for.

Owen was discovered at a summer Camp last year in Alliston which County FC co-hosted and led by guest coach and Crystal Palace talent scout Colin Cardines. He was invited to spend sometime training with the coaches at Crystal Palace prior to moving to the UK and as a result has been offered a contract pending International Clearance from FIFA.

He has been training and playing with the Crystal Palace Academy since January 2017. Owen awaits International Clearance from FIFA, before he can officially sign a contract yet his talents haven't gone unnoticed. Owen recently earned national recognition when he was called up by the Football Association to attend a two-day England Goalkeeper Camp at the National Training Facilities at St George's Park, where Owen was coached by the England National Goalkeeper coaches
